Postie offers many advanced features for posting to your blog via e-mail, including the ability to assign categories by name, included pictures and videos, and automatically strip off signatures. It also has support for both imap and pop3, with the option for ssl with both.
Postie was mostly developed by Dirk
Elmendork. He doesn’t seem to have time for it anymore, and I had done some hacking on it awhile ago, so I finally decided to make my version a bit more public. Thanks to Dirk for all his work (and to John Blade before him).
The plugin is hosted in the official wordpress plugin repository. If you want to test out the bleeding edge version, you can download the development version by clicking the link to “other versions” there.
